Woman dead, man injured in shooting outside Detroit strip club

DETROIT, MI - Police were looking for a male in connection with a shooting that killed a 24-year-old woman and injured a man early Sunday in the parking lot of a strip club in southwest Detroit.

The two were getting into a parked vehicle about 1:20 a.m. May 14 at Club Venus, a dance and "adult entertainment" venue at 9506 Michigan Ave., when an unknown person left a nearby vehicle. He produced a handgun and began firing into the victims' vehicle, Detroit police reported in a statement.

The man, 23, had an injury to his left hand that was not considered life-threatening. The woman suffered a fatal wounds to her arm.

The shooter fled on foot through the lot, later entered his vehicle and escaped, police reported.

He was wearing a sweater with a hood and fled in a dark colored four-door sedan occupied by three others.

Police released a video of a hooded man running through the lot.
