A man assaulted in the restroom of Venom nightclub Sunday, June 25, died at a hospital. One suspect turned himself in to Phoenix police Tuesday, and a second suspect is believed to be in California, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Tommy Hook, 64, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
About 1 a.m. Sunday, police and Tucson Fire Department paramedics responded to Venom nightclub at 1104 S. Craycroft Road. The adult entertainment club is north of East 22nd Street.
Paramedics found Hook inside the restroom suffering from life-threatening injuries and took him to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson where he later was pronounced deceased, Bay said.
Gang investigation unit detectives found out that Hook was assaulted by two men and left unconscious. The two men left the restroom and fled on motorcycles, said Bay.
Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Fredric Stephen Bayles, 23, and Davaress Davon Bolden, 33, on suspicion of manslaughter.
Bolden turned himself in to authorities at the Phoenix Police Department, Bay said.
Bayles, who is believed to be in the San Diego area, is described as white and is about 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.
Investigators ask that anyone with information about Bayles whereabouts call 911. He is not to be approached, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the fatal assault is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster hotline.
