This year the Cheetah Gentlemen's Clubs in Hallandale Beach, Pompano Beach and Palm Beach will be giving away 3,000 turkeys to families in need for Thanksgiving.
The annual Thanksgiving giveaway of 10- to 14-pound turkeys will begin at 11 p.m. on Nov. 20th in the strip club parking lots located at 100 Ansin Blvd in Hallandale Beach, 497 NW 31st Ave in Pompano Beach and 3342 Shawnee Ave in West Palm Beach, according to a news release.
There will be Local celebrities attending the event, including "Scarface" actor Angel Salazar along with former NFL players, which have yet to be announced. Last year, former Miami Dolphins James Pruitt and Larry Ball and Tampa Bay Buc Errict Rhett handed out turkeys in Hallandale.
"We've been giving away free turkeys for years," said Greg Jarmon, the Hallandale club general manager, of last year's event. "People start lining thinking we will run out, but we don't. It takes 3 or 4 hours to give away all these turkeys."
The deal is one freebie per family on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The free birds are being distributed by the nonprofit Rodriguez Charities, founded by Cheetah owner Joe Rodriguez, a former Marine. Last year, the charity distributed a thousand turkeys at the Hallandale club.
"We like to to let people know we're human, because we are a strip club, and we're often stereotyped," Jarmon said. "We're the same people that live next door to you. We have compassion."
