A man has been charged with first-degree murder for his alleged role in the shooting death of a man who was leaving a Denver strip club New Year's Eve.

Jared Chavez, 25, was arrested quickly after the shooting, which occurred at Dandy Dan's near West Alameda Avenue and South Federal Boulevard.

According to prosecutors the victim, identified as 35-year-old Junior Izaguirre Gamez, was gunned down while leaving the club with friends.

It's uncertain if Gamez knew Chavez or what a potential motive may have been for the murder.

Chavez is being held without bond in the Denver city jail and is slated to appear in court on Jan. 10.
