Gang member claims to be male stripper, has $55K, Rolexes seized by Houston Police

A routine arrest warrant served by Houston Police officers last month ended with nearly $55,000 in cash and multiple pieces of jewelry being seized from a man who told police he worked as a male stripper, but who court records show is a documented gang member.

Police were serving a felony arrest warrant for Ashley Spriggs at an apartment in the 12000 block of City Park Central Lane on Jan. 7 when Spriggs' brother Terrence answered the door, according to court records.

When the door opened, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, court records show. Officers also noticed Spriggs had two bulges in his pants, court records show.
