This place is huge and fun and insane. What a great time we had here. I came with a group of guys for a fun night out and we had a blast. Everyone including the workers was treating their job like a huge party. The cover was $10 which is fine we didn't care. Why do you come to a place like this? To have a blast and spend money, so if you're complaining about the cover, this isn't the right place for you. The security was pretty tight when it came to the dancers, I wish they would lighten up a little bit. The only negative is that one dancer had a girlfriend and she could be all over him the whole night yet if anyone tried to get near a dancer then they were asked to step away. I don't know if you have a girlfriend and you dance there, leave that stuff for after you leave. Only three stars because I've been to better but I like this place very much.
If you think that you are going to get Tatummed or have fun dancing with cute guys, guess again. On this Thursday night it was seedy, lonely, and everything bad about naked men. They were just there, naked, with their penises hanging out. They looked like tired old penis hangars. Simply displaying a penis is not an accomplishment. It is the 21st century. The women I brought to the club were hot, dressed for fun, and experienced. The girls have seen the penis. These guys looked so sad and bored.... they looked somebody had taken all of the air out of their funbags.
Ugly, nasty, ugly, mean, and dirty. Insanely rude staff. Mean and angry old dudes barking "not to touch!" Comical, and pathetic, since there was no one to keep the old nasty-staff in check. Really, really pathetic!
I've been to Z/S three different times...twice for bachelorette shenanigans, once for New Year's Eve. My experiences have been very consistent. It isn't in the best area....you literally drive through what looks and feels like a construction site, come to a clearing, and then BAM, there it is! There isn't much parking, but before we panicked, we saw people lining their cars up on a strip of grass....and then we followed suit with the lawbreakers! We figured that by the time a tow truck came around, they'd get the other cars before they got us and we'd have time to move. I know, I know...so sketchy. At any rate, of the three times I've been here, we've always parked on this same strip of grass and have never seen a cop or tow truck come by to make people move. After paying the cover (which was $10, $20 on NYE), we received a ticket for a $1 off of a drink. Drinks weren't very pricey...and they weren't anything fancy, which is just fine for me! They have a drag show "earlier" in the evening on the first floor. Once that's over, usually everyone heads upstairs for the live male entertainment. The upper floor with the male dancers is not for the faint of heart or prude!!This place is not very fancy, so I wouldn't say that there's a real upscale dress code. Of my three visits, twice I wore heels and once I wore grey Chuck Taylor's and a plaid dress...The male club goers were in attire ranging from suits, to jean/shirt/button up combos, and then in some cases close to nothing. I've found that Z/S is great for a girl's night because we don't have the worry of having guys pick at you and harassing you the whole night! You can actually let loose and not feel self conscious about dancing and just having a great time! Be ready to dance your bootay off! They play lots of upbeat music throughout the night. If you're looking for a good place for a girl's night and some eye candy, this is the place. Warning: my friend complained that the dancers gave more attention to the male patrons than female patrons. I didn't see this as a problem seeing how this IS a gay club! But she did whine a bit. lol
Drag Queens and naked bodies everywhere...and I mean everywhere. So if you're okay with those two things then you will have a blast!
Really had a great time here tonight. Thought most of the guys were amazing. Quite a few though weren't very personable and seemed uncomfortable with guys. Been to a few clubs like this in the past and always find the experience much more enjoyable when the guys at least pretend to be interested in you. A wink at you. A smile. Rubbing your shoulders. A couple of the guys here got it but others didn't. They'd be more successful at getting tipped I'm sure if the put some effort into it. I'm not sketchy like many of the customers there that grope and give nothing. I like to give 5s, 10s, 20s and like when the dancers at least pretend to be my bf for a few minutes. They should also offer private dances like many other places do. This would help the dancers get larger tips. They do a great job and deserve to be tipped for their efforts. Negative though, very little parking and if you park along where everyone else is the DC scum parking patrol will cite you 20.00. Ridiculous. Bottom feeders. But overall liked the place and would go back.
Great for girls night.. or more of a bachelorette feel. $10 cover, with $1 off your first drink, cash only. Drinks are STRONG and go for $6/beer and $8 or so for a mix drink. i was pretty set with a shot and a vodka and soda. The men are actually attractive.. and although it's a gay club, there are straight men there and their host will take you to them. Unlike a straight strip club for women, the men stay on the stage or on pedestals and don't come rushing at you and gyrating in your face--:;ahem:: hustlers... therefore I feel much safer and less violated at Secrets! There are LOTS of naked men.. like LOTTTSSS i feel like no less than 15. For one girls night I probably saw enough pee pees to last me 2015. There's also a large dance floor playing top 40, that's mostly empty--cuz the men are all hovering around the strippers.. so plenty of dance space. My favorite was the shower, very creative!
This is a long overdue review.Decided to visit this place for a "coming out party" for a friend and wow!!!! It was amazing! I took a few of the staff aside and told them this was a very special night for us. I let them know my GBF was young, extremely shy,but polite. They were super friendly, accommodating and sweet to him. One even bought him a shot to loosen him up. This meant a lot to me. My GBF ended up having a wonderful time. The music was great! They played a little bit of everything. They had really attractive male dancers, which my super shy GBF absolutely enjoyed watching. The employees treated me and my eclectic group with respect and were attentive of our table. Also the drinks were fair price, and the vibe was great! People were just focused on having fun, not drama. I definitely recommend this place if you want to have fun!Note : Please don't be a creeper and just stare at the performers. Tip them they deserve it. There acrobatic skills are amazing. Some could definitely be Olympians.
Umm...I don't know what I was expecting, but SO MANY DICKS. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, flaccid ones, SO MANY DICKS. Lots of cute gay boys, too.I never knew that tennis shoes and socks (and only tennis shoes and socks) could be so attractive
Ssshh... It's a secret and nobody is supposed to know that I have gone to a male strip bar, so I'm gonna write a review about it and post it all over the internet. Yes, I do enjoy male nudity and since male strip bar is so rare within the US. I do come here sometimes when I'm in DC for the novelty of it. Secrets is in a remote part of town where you really need a car or a cab to get to, but even the drive over would tell you that this area is seedy and scary. You wouldn't want your car to be broken down on your way here for sure. The place is dead in the early evenings. And low energy during weeknights. I've been here during the week once and both the patrons and the dancers are bored. I once joked with a friend on how dead in the eyes the dancers are. But then I've been here during weekends and it's a total different feel. They're are like 3 groups of guys who take turn dancing on the floor, on top of bars and resting every 30 minutes. It's a great rotation that keep the dancer energized and the patrons happy. The quality of the guys is a good B-/C+ but beggars can't be choosers and yes we're talking about full nudity. Most of them are pretty friendly. There are metal bars on top of the ceiling where guys getting on top of the bar would perform pull ups. Occasionally a bachelorette party would pass through to break up the sexual tension of the whole place and the crowd here tends to be older sugar daddy types but it's kinda expected. It's definitely a nice change of pace from your day-to-day gay bars.I should also mention for the people who got here in cabs, they have a limo service to get you back to where you're from, so don't fret.
Secrets has been one of my favorite places since moving to DC almost 4 years ago, but I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated when I went on Saturday and saw a bachelorette party there. There were also a bunch of other girls there too. I am of the opinion that gay bars are for guys with the exception of lesbians and fag hags, but hordes of straight girls who want to laugh and point or who want the gays to tell them they are so pretty is not ok. They can go out and drink anywhere and feel comfortable. We only have a handful of places like that. It ruined my experience Saturday night. They monopolized the dancers and were obnoxiously running around.
I'm torn between 2.5 and 3. As you may have guessed, this is a popular bachelorette destination. I've visited on two occasions, and both were to celebrate my friends' last days of being single. If you have never experienced anything like this before, you will be quite shocked. The first floor seems tame enough, if slightly risque-drag queens strutting their stuff and doing some sexy stuff for tips (still mild compared to upstairs...) Go up the flight of stairs behind the bar and you'll find a much bolder and raw world. It's not for the faint of heart. Dancing on table tops are a bunch of naked guys. Okay, so maybe some won't even bat an eyelash. But despite being exposed to their fair share of "adult" imagery, experiences and other aspects of pop culture, both bachelorette parties were somewhat stunned and even slightly embarrassed. The whole experience is somewhat entertaining but as one girl rightly commented, it doesn't seem to take much art to flash one's privates. As my friend put it, "At least, female strippers dance and do cool stuff with the pole." We saw one "acrobatic" act, and everything else was "gee, anyone could do that." So I guess go here for the shock value, if you find such displays shocking at all. Otherwise, maybe it's best to have a wild night at a gentleman's club where you're more likely to meet skilled dancers who are truly entertainers.
The sleazy club that harkens back to the Half St. days.I have to say, I've never been to a strip club (or a club where there are naked dancers). Being a native Metro Detroiter, I can appreciate the more gritty dive-bar scene, and Ziegfeld's/Secrets fits that category perfectly. I've been told by older gay men that it is the only surviving club from what used to be the gay clubbing district in DC on Half Street (now where the Nationals Stadium is). It's definitely an experience, and really changes the atmosphere.Good changes: attractive men that naturally gather a crowd around them.Bad changes: paranoia that someone is always taking pictures/that there is competition. Nevertheless, I went on a Thursday (which is their slow day), but shirtless men get to drink free from 10-11pm and 12-12:30am. Cover was $5 (way worth it over the $10). There were about 40 people total, but I was still able to meet some attractive and interesting people, dance the night away with one of them, and even get a dollar tip for my dancing (Hey~). I had a great time. Will I be back? Probably. But definitely not my go-to place.
I was told to visit this bar on my trip so what THA hell. The bar has a $10 cover...no t no shade. I'm just not used to paying cover where I live. They give you a ticket which is $1 off your first drink (cute). Just don't use it in the bar by the drag show. They won't give you a discount and charge you an extra $1 for each drink you order. (I found this out by going to a different bartender upstairs where the guys were dancing) The second level was big. I loved the music. The videos. The men! There are at least 10 fully nude guys dancing at all times. Cute cute cute. Lots of eye candy. Drinks to me are overpriced ($6.50 well drinks $5.25 domestic beer $6.50 import beer) but I don't live here do who cares. I'll just bring more cash next time. Lol
Dreadful. Male, Jersey Shore douchebagdancers on Viagra that tell you they are "straight"...(ROFL, yeah right) and giggling straight women galore. Dance floor with not one person on it. The whole "I'm Straight" thing is soooo1999. Women, Women, Women EVERYWHERE !!!Definetly skip this place.
skanky ... in a good way. I'll go here maybe once or twice a year with a big group of friends for a night of dancing and drinking.
one word: TRAUMACan I just say that gay boys are my favorite kind of boy? No one loves a drag show more than me and the string of lovely ladies who flaunted what their mama didn't give them...WOW. I was even brave enough to go down to the stage area and make it rain...in $1bills -____-Make sure you look cute or you will not be appreciated. Put yo face on, drink some cheap drinks, hug some cute boys and be careful not to run into anything...heh heh heh * creepy smile*the 2nd floor was where i was traumatized. severely. I would have to be sshhhwaaaasted out of my mind to be able to handle that. and maybe not even then :XNo pictures for obvious reasons.
much better than the old one.
If.My.Mother.EVER. knew what my gay best friends get me into...she would have a stroke. Die. Come back as a ghost. And haunt them. So I don't know what's really going on here. Is this a club? A bar? A strip club? A drag show? The lobby before hell? Yes. On the lower level you'll find a couple bars, a pit of dancing queens, a naked man or two dancing, and some awkward drunk lurkers roaming about. Later on in the evening they'll have a drag show and let me just tell you - hilarious. Ladies, bring your straight boyfriends. I dare ya. They will be HORRIFIED when they get singled out. Now there's upstairs...it is much darker, the queens and ladies have left, and it's just a bunch of naked men standing on bars while you order your beverages. Then you walk around the dance-floor avoiding ass grabs from men who could be your grandfather and watching hot naked men dance on boxes. Typical SaturGay night in DC. All in all this place offers many flavors for different tastes. If you like drag shows or dancing, stick to the lower level. If you wanna see hotties with no clothing, then move on upstairs. But don't say I didn't warn you when some old creep thinks it's a 5-finger discount on your buttum. Uh-uh Rumpelstiltskin. Mm-mm Father Time. Go give a dollar to touch one of the dancers - ya know - the men who are paid to be molested.P.S. - "accidentally" spilling your drink on someone is a good way of saying back off. But a waste of good alcohol :(
From the ashes of the old Club Lime location, rises a newer, bigger, BETTER Ziegfeld's/Secrets out near Buzzard's Point, and if opening night was any indication at all, it is here to STAY! Where the old club was a one-level affair, here the drag queens are downstairs, the dancing boyz upstairs! The stages on both floors wouldn't be out of place in the best cabaret clubs in existence, and both are islands on a gigantic dance floor sea, should patrons be in the mood to "shake their groove thang" to the explosions of sound thundering from the new "earthquake" worthy systems. Amazingly, nearly all of the original Secrets dancers are back, along with some stunning new "cast-members." And downstairs, Miss Ella Fitzgerald and her ladies seem as if they couldn't be happier to celebrate having a new home. The crowds are more diverse and lively than ever - gay, straight, bi and "still figuring it out". Things were certainly hectic and there's plenty of bugs to iron out, service and security-wise, but these are the growing pains of any new establishment that looks to be a smash hit.So to Jon, Allen, Steve, Darryl S., Miss Ella and all the management, staff and entertainers...WELCOME BACK! Three years was too damn long, but it was more than worth the wait!!!
Do gay men get more action than straight men?
Hello? Anyone here? This place is dead.
Ziegfields is the place to go for finest floor show you have ever seen. Forget the meat next door honey, the show is where the action is. Girls -- Have you seen the little boutique that is opening in Silver Spring? It's called Attitudes Boutique. I am looking forward to seeing what they have in for us big girls...
What????No other comments? Well, I guess it's because this is really more of a "straight" website and message board. Well, if there are any gay, bi, curious, or women, who want to see some nice specimens of meat..this is the place to go. They are allowed to strip all the way down to their socks. And most guys are rock hard the whole time. The dudes are friendly and love to shake what they got for you in yur face. A FUN place to hag out.
