Great food, great vibe in general. I personally, being spoiled by Atlanta and Vegas, wish the girls could actually dance to the music, but they have great attitudes and perform well.I would give it 4 stars, because my experience is always positive when I visit, but SHAME ON THE MAN WHO MANAGES THE STRIPPERS. Fool came up, mid-dance, and angrily asked the girl if she could stay past her shift. She said no, he was obviously ticked off, making the girl uncomfortable. Poor show, bro. You could've waited.
$2.50 pints :-) 10a-7p $7.50 flights of 4! It's dark, it's a "strip club", It's Sassy's. Nothing to write home about other than good deals on beer, the dancers don't bother you if you don't want to be bothered (unlike Vegas where they have their hardcore hustle on). It's lax and chill. They've got some tables and chairs to kick it. That's about it. They've got their own parking lot but it's not that big. Check'em out.
Fat bartender with goatee was rude as hell, cursed at his customers for standing too close to the waitress station, not helpful, and an ass. Tipped zero, then he proceeded to scream at us. Learn how customer service works, without your customers you go hungry.
Very fun place, for the following reasons:1. Beautiful dancers, with very graceful and professional work on the pole.2. Great mix of music: rock, trance, hip-hop.3. Coronas are $3.75, bartenders and waitresses are attentive.4. Security staff seemed very professional.5. Smoking patio in the back (partially covered, no heat lamps that I saw).6. Good lighting and ambiance.7. Great crowd, mix of people, including a bachelorette party.8. They serve food; looked good, but I didn't try any.The only drawbacks are the ATMs don't work well, and the men's room is on the wrong side of nasty.
The bouncer wouldn't accept my out of state ID. I am well of age but because it was a foreign ID to him he wouldn't accept it. Please educate your door men on all forms of ID.
I am astonished by how we were treated at Sassy's tonight. Being a Portland Native I enjoy having friends and family in town. Our cousin from Venezuela was here tonight and was kicked out of the bar. He has never been to a strip club in America and tried to take a selfie of us near the bathroom. We were told no photos and moved on with our night. We noticed security watching us from that instance and decided to move to the opposite side of the bar. We were literally stripped from our chairs and told that they needed to be at the stage, when the particular stage we were at had no one by it. Once the guard moved one chair he claimed every other chair in the area was supposed to be by the stage... note... the other two tables near by got chairs stripped from them at our expense. No chairs at any table near by. We then got kicked out and our friend from Venezuela who stayed by another stage was kicked out for being with us. Never experienced such bullshit.
Coming from California, I can't be anything but stoked about no cover, full bar, food, AND girls covered in tattoos. Can't wait to come back.
Really disappointed tonight. I've been to Sassy's many times. It's usually a good go to place to have a drink and relax after work. I've brought a lot of friends here. However, tonight, after a stressful day at work, I decide to stop in and have a whiskey. A girl working at the stage, who doesn't have anyone sitting around her, keeps pointing at me and calling me over, so I head over, thinking maybe she's bored so I'll talk to her, but before sitting down I say "Sorry, I don't have any cash on me... is that going to be problem?" (etiquette says that if you sit at the stage you must tip...I always do) she says "yeah..." so I say "Okay, well I'll have to head back over to the bar then." And I do. Not trying to be rude, I understand the rules. When I sit back down at the bar she yells over, "that's really no different than sitting here." Well actually it is... it's not against the rules to sit at the bar and watch the girls. From then on, two other girls start harassing me, telling me I'm being rude because I'm watching the dancers and not tipping. Apparently I should be watching the TVs instead. Yet they aren't bugging any of the other patrons sitting closer to the stage and watching the girls. Look, I get it. Dancers are there to work and make a buck. And usually I do tip, but it so happens that this month, after paying a medical bill on top of all my other bills, I don't have a lot of extra cash. I'm not going to use their ATM (+fee) to go pull cash out so I can tip the dancers a couple bucks a song while I'm sitting at the bar. Sorry it's a slow night girls, but all I wanted to do was have one drink and relax. I tell the girl harassing me that I just don't have any cash on me and that I'm planning on leaving after finishing my drink. She rudely says, "good." Basically, I'm just really disappointed, Sassy's has always been a friendly place and one I've given a lot of business to, but I have never been treated so rudely at a bar as I was tonight. You shouldn't be harassed just for wanting to have a drink and enjoy the view. You can even do that at the higher end clubs. Not sure if I plan on ever going back.
My girlfriend and I went here to have a good time. We spent about $80 on dances during the shows over about 45 minutes. Suddenly out of nowhere we were told we were not spending enough "you need to go sit at the bar the girls have been complaining about you guys not tipping enough" just as I was laying another 5 down.... So I picked up my $5 and said we would take our business elsewhere. At that point the bouncer/ door man got in my face took my drink from my hand told me I was stealing money and I simply said "you are stealing my drink" let's let bygones be bygones and leave it at that... at which point he called me a "Fa**ot" and started pushing me. We hurried to the door and while trying to get into a cab the bouncer was waving around a can of mace and calling me a "fa**ot." I simply said sir you are using a politically incorrect slur and I take offense to that. He then danced around threatening to pepper spray us and we left in haste. We certainly will not be visiting here again we found much more inviting clubs in Portland.
A man with face tattoos ruined me and my group's night. I was very much sober with my friend and her boyfriend and we were kicked out of the club for a mistaken identity. This man thought my friend was too drunk when we were very much sober. He thought she was someone else and kicked us out after about 5 minutes of being there for ordering a water. I have never had a negative experience at Sassy's until this time and was extremely upset with the misunderstanding. The man is irrational and power hungry. My friend left crying and very confused. I will never go to Sassy's again as long as this man is working there. It was a very upsetting experience. And I am very much disappointed.
I can agree this place seems more divey, but it's not dirty, the people are respectful, and the scene is wonderful. I think people think it's a dive because the walls are painted black and they don't have those tacky rope lights you see everywhere else. The girls tend to be amazing, pretty, witty, and friendly. Two stages, on busy nights three. Never a cover! Drinks well priced and LOTS of taps to choose from. All staff is nice. I haven't seen much private dance action, though I know the girls will do it. I've seen the girls more often sit with you and maybe have a drink. Beyond friendly!
This is by far my favorite strip club. I have no clue how this calculates but the girls are just right, the music is just right, the service is great, i just always have a good experience and a good time. It's that edge of comfortable and badass that i crave after a couple drinks. Check it.
I went to sassy for my bachelor party 5 minutes ago, totally sober. Stood at the bar for 5 minutes until I was told by a bartender they wouldn't serve me. I wasn't tipsy, I wasn't swaying, didn't even talk to the bartender until they told me I was cut off for no reason. I would not recommend this club to anyone, doesn't really make sense to cut someone off who hasn't drank anything, go at your own risk!
The bouncers are extremely rude here. The bartender served my friend and I a drink which 5 minutes later the bouncer came up behind me, grabbed the drink out of my hand and yelled at me to get out saying they had been closed for awhile.
This place sucks. A strip club with awful lap dances is just a crime. Do not go to this place, you will be disappointed. Stay away from Sassy's
Why go to any old bar when you can go to a bar with sexy naked ladies? Sassy's is a great hang out spot with an excellant tap and beautiful women. They're usually a little edgy, too, which I enjoyed. The energy is great, even on slower nights and I really enjoy the modest layout. Overall, it's a great spot!
I'm not really a strip club guy, per se. I live in washington, they don't serve booze in strip clubs here, they serve $8 coke's, and they make you buy 2 of them. You won't find me at a strip club here. Portland is a different story. Strip clubs in portland are bars that also have naked women at them. That's something I can appreciate. Sassy's was cool because it was a bit like your neighborhood dive bar, friendly people, chill atmosphere, cheap drinks, etc. but it also had strippers. I like that. Happy hour can't be beat with $2 drafts. The dancers were fun and friendly even though they weren't making much money from us, we were there with a mixed group of guys and girls so really we were just hanging out, having some beers, and enjoying the scenery. Overall, I'd definitely go back to Sassy's next time I'm in the area.
I've given this strip a chance a few times now and each experience has not wowed me in anyway. It's always too crowded on busy nights and the dancers just seem to be a little "off". They don't appear to be engaging the crowds that much and sometimes they are in their own little world. I do give credit that there is no cover charge - but then again you pay the price by being over crowded constantly. I will stick with Acropolis and Devil's Point as my "to go" strip clubs............
Oh Sassy's. We have such a love/hate relationship as far as strip clubs go. Somehow I always get pulled to you whenever hanging out with the boys. PROS: Pretty tattooed chicks, decent drinksCONS: Typically always crowded and the dancers and be rude sometimes (will not name names) - not directed at me but my friends. I have nothing against this place or those employed here. I just haven't had a super awesome experience here. Not that it matters, I only come out of 'support' for my man friends. For about $10 you can be seated in the balcony area which in my opinion is way better. You have a view of the entire place and a personal waitress.
I ALWAYS have a blast when I come here. I've brought many friends here to lose their strip club virginities. There's never been a cover when I've gone. The girls that work here are amazing performers and pretty friendly. I had been coming so often for a while they actually recognized me and we shared drinks. The food isn't that bad, albeit its totally bar food, but with cheap drinks and good entertainment, what more can you ask for?The music here is pretty decent and with three main stages its nice to be able to flow around the bar. It can get crowded and if you're a girl, obviously be prepared to be looked at like a piece of meat. But for a good time regardless what sex you are, check out Sassys!
This place is awesome. It's a neighborhood bar, that just happens to have naked girls working the pole. And boy howdy, do they work the pole. Every girl I saw was in great shape, crazy acrobatic, and friendly. I liked it. You should go. Go see naked girls now!!!
You know, I end up at a lot of places. Some of them are seedy. Some of them are Sassy. I think you know which one this is.I'm not the world's biggest fan of strip joints. My feminism has a tendency to flare up a bit when considering the political implications of non-unionized sex work. Furthermore, a lot of them are just sad to behold: Bored women stroll around a pole or mimic fellatio for abysmal tips from the fixed-and-dilated types sitting, alone, at the tip rail. You just know everyone's going home feeling dirty or violated or both. But you know what? This place is actually pretty cool. The dancers were vivacious (yes, I can use the word vivacious if I want to, I don't care what you think) and actually danced. The crowd was jovial (yes, I can say jovial if I want to) and seemed to be there to have a good time. I didn't feel unsafe. Then again, it was the end of the night. I probably would have felt safe picking a fight with a linebacker or a Mack truck. AHEM.Anyway. There was food! Hooray! My rum and coke was actually a tequila and coke, and a very strong one at that. The cocktail waitress, who was awesome, brought me a new drink, which actually contained rum. A lot of it. All in all it was a good choice for girls' night out.
Strippers good, bouncer jackax
LOVED all the tatted girls....roooooarrr! LOL....I had a total blast here!
Dj hazmatt spins the tunes and the girls work the poles food quality is a lot better than most and the price is right strong drinks all around good spot makes my A-list
Sassy's is one of my favorite spots to grab a drink in Portland. Unlike strip clubs at other venues of Portland, Sassy's has it's unique flair of tattooed girls all with their own style. Drinks are cheap, there is no cover, they serve food and you always get table service. Also this place is female friendly. I come here with teh wife all the time, and see couples quite often enjoying the ambience.Probably the best reason to come to Sassy's is to see Malice, who sports a colorful faux hawk and stylish tattoos. A great and unique dancer who equates to being more of a rockstar when it comes to exotic dancing. Anyways, I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Portland or just a local looking for quality place to hang out!
My all time favorite strip club in Portland. They'vre re-vamped their food menu with local, organic ingredients. Girls are still hot as ever. Lots of tattoos, and sexy bodies! A little something for everyone.
I've gotta say at the very least they are some honest strippers at Sassy's. Recently when friends were touring through town, we took them on the requisite "visit to a Portland strip club." One said friend was so soused, when we were waiting for our rides outside the bar, he proceeded to leave a garment bag and a Nike shopping bag full of BRAND NEW Nike gear out front. A Sassy's employee actually noticed the forgotten items while closing up, put them inside and saved them from being stolen off the street at 2 am. My friend was able to reclaim his valuable items and get a daytime gander at the ladies of Sassy's.
I love Sassys! The dancers are always hot. Even the bar staff is unusually good looking. I also like the fact that they seem to run a tight ship. Security was keeping an eye out but never seemed mean or overly tough. The cocktail waitresses were on it and we were not kept waiting for our order. Food was cooked well and was quality. Waitress was also super nice. The place itself was super nice. I like the private dance area and the balcony area up top. Nice atmosphere. Stiff drinks btw!Oh but my favorite part is that their food menu is almost %100 organic!
This place may be my favorite thing about Portland. I mean where else can you go and look at hot chicks with, yes ladies and gentlemen, shaved armpits? Well I guess you could go to other strip clubs... but I don't think the others compare to sassy's. What I also like is the doorman with the tattoos on his face who, in the blink of an eye, could probably kill everyone in the room. It makes the experience that much more interesting being stared at by the SCARIEST FUCKING MAN ON THE PLANET! So grab an Oly ($2 aint bad considering its a strip club) and watch some hot tattooed chicks do some pole tricks. Oh yea, and keep buying beers or Pirate/Biker doorman might have to send you on your way.
Sorry guys, I'm just not trinken your hate-O-ade (TM)...I hadn't been here since March I thought...y'know...maybe things have changed for the worse. They hadn't.Even having read all the negative reviews, and keeping those comments in mind, I didn't notice any of the major negatives folks are ascribing to this "Bar & Grill".Maybe I just come on the right nights (SHUT UP), but I've never had a bad time here.A word of note on BEER prices here: they are NOT high, unless you drink PBR. PBR is like $3.50, craft brews are $4. Why people drink something brewed by foreign-owned-brewing-mega-corp-conglomerate Miller in a city with more breweries-per-capita than any other in the WORLD (and in the same breath will condemn you to hell for having ever set foot in a Walmart) continues to baffle me.The best things about Sassy's are still the same:1) NEVER a cover.2) NEVER any pressure (to buy drinks OR dances, do they even do dances here?)3) BEER: above-average number of taps and competitive prices.4) It's close to one of the best beer bars in town: The Green Dragon, which also happens to close way too early
Your average Portland strip bar; bounced by old punks, danced by 22 year old tattooed college girls, cheap and strong drinks. Really all in all fairly run of the mill. Full disclosure, I am not male. However my male compatriots were disappointed with the size of the dancers. As in they were pretty tiny. One little pocket sized woman did some amazing pole work though. We loved watching her, not for any real seductive purposes, but because she should be a gymnast with that much control over her body. Hell, I don't know many people that could hang off a pole 10 feet in the air and do sit-ups. Actually, I don't know many people that can do one sit-up on the ground. My only real complaints are that the lack of cover attracts a Broseph type crowd and it smelled faintly of vomit. But all in all the staff were professionals (a good source tells me that the security guy with the half shaved head is not to be trifled with) and it was a pretty entertaining night. I've also heard the food is pretty good.
SeedyI've been mulling around words to describe the club since I walked in. It's very dark and crowded. I felt like I was in someones attic. I was kind of afraid to touch anything, because I was afraid it would be sticky. You know what I mean? I think a big part of the problem was that this is the place you END UP after stopping off at a few other bars for drinks. You come here AFTER you get your buzz going. Actually you would have to. The drinks aren't very strong, and they certainly aren't cheap. On the plus side, I will say that the servers and bartenders are very nice, as were several of the dancers. I witnessed some fine pole work. Would I come back? Mmmm, maybe if I was REALLY buzzed, and the rest of the gang was going, but not with 1 or 2 people. I have been to a number of questionable places in my time, but this one isn't for me.
My return to this Portland nudie institution last night after an extended absence left me sad and empty inside. Sassy's has always been one of my more highly regarded and highly recommended strip clubs in Portland. Centrally located, divey and unpretentious, and replete with pool tables, stiff drinks, and nice girls, Sassy's was one of my favorite places to drop in and play pool with a buddy. Not so much anymore. Upon entering I was greeted by a bouncer rocking a Kevlar vest and mercenary-style utility belt. Normally I would laugh at someone so decked out to bounce a strip bar in Portland, but Immediately upon entering I recognized why: Douche City. I have never seen so many D-bags in one place in my whole life (last night's immediate present company excluded, of course). The vibe in the place was frenetic and out of control. I felt like at any moment the place could erupt in a drunken battle-to-the-death over some naked girl. The intrusive and intense eye-in-the-sky feeling the bouncer (who actually seemed like a nice guy underneath the face tats) gave off didn't help. I saw dudes knocking their drinks into the rack, I saw people almost getting kicked out all over the place, I saw one of the filthiest bathrooms I have ever seen (outside of Lowbrow and Magic Garden). Sassy's has all of the bad elements I don't like in a strip club, but with no balancing/redeeming qualities. Plus, they took away the pool tables. :(The only real upside I saw to the place is that the bartenders and servers were super nice and friendly. The service was definitely on-point. I gotta hand it to a staff that deals with that type of crowd and can still be awesome. The girls themselves? A mix of crazy, strong (on the pole), and blah. The two stars are really for the service staff and the few girls that had the mad pole skillz. Otherwise, bunk.
I thought it was fun, and I got intoxicated quickly on Sassy's very strong drinks. The bouncers were scary looking, but super nice, and the ladies' room was surprisingly passable.
When I got there the doorman was strict but curtious. He explained with such a small place we have to stick to the rules else things can get out of hand quickly. The barstaff rules! They will make you come back for the Stiff drinks and great food!Oh and by the way, the girls are AMAZING!!!!!I will be there next time i'm in town. Thanks Derek A.Grand Rapids MI.
dont waste your time with this place. though the girls working there are friendly, door guy and bouncers make you feel unwelcome from the second you spend your first dollar
I am a younger woman who went here with guy friends, all the dancers were very nice and good looking, fun place, alot better than i exspected, place lookes like a dive on the outside but whats on the inside is what counts. The bouncers are more strict than other places, wouldnt let me share a chair with my friend (the place was packed)
